Ecology and Wildlife Officer Full-time (37 Hours) – 2 year fixed term Grade B1 - £28,598 - £30,024 per annum The Central Lincolnshire Local Planning Authorities are seeking a Graduate Ecologist to help deliver the ecology function and support in delivering Biodiversity Net Gain across the three partner authorities in Central Lincolnshire – City of Lincoln, North Kesteven and West Lindsey. The role will sit within the Central Lincolnshire Local Plans Team. Working alongside and building relationships with planning officers, the local nature partnership, the local wildlife trust, developers and landowners, and communities with the shared goal of delivering ecological improvements across Central Lincolnshire, you will be integral in delivering on projects where both nature and people can thrive. Job Requirements Degree (or within final year of study) or equivalent in Ecology or a closely related discipline Understanding of delivering ecology in relation to planning and development including an awareness of national legislation/guidance/policy in relation to ecology and Biodiversity Net Gain Experience of writing/presenting to a variety of audiences making use of good interpersonal and negotiation skills particularly in delivering positive ecological outcomes Experience delivering projects and an ability to prioritise workloads and work under pressure whilst ensuring deadlines are met and high standards are maintained Ability to analyse and manage complex information/data and present it clearly using a range of IT skills Key Responsibilities Supporting planning officers and negotiating with developers and landowners to deliver positive ecological outcomes by providing comments on Biodiversity Net Gain and Habitat Management and Monitoring Plans Working on wider projects to deliver ecology and nature recovery Supporting planning enforcement officers in taking enforcement action relating to ecology Conducting site monitoring to ensure effective delivery of Biodiversity Net Gain Key Attributes Driven and good at working both solo and as part of a team Highly organised, dynamic and confident Strong written and verbal skills You will bring care, curiosity, and a commitment to learning in this pivotal role, helping shape a greener, wilder future for the Central Lincolnshire Districts.
