Healthcare Assistant – Primary Care We have a great opportunity for an enthusiastic Healthcare Assistant to join our large, highly skilled Nursing Team which consists of Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, Nurse Associates and Phlebotomists. Key Responsibilities ECG recording Phlebotomy Blood pressure checks Basic wound care Undertake new patient health checks and NHS health checks Undertake a range of diagnostic procedures (urinalysis, blood pressure monitoring, pregnancy tests, diabetic foot checks) Delivery of health promotion (smoking cessation advice, diet, exercise and alcohol awareness) Maintain stock control for all clinical rooms Supporting practitioners to carry out healthcare activities Participate in home visits and care home visits Maintaining patient records Supporting the activities of other team members Maintaining a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff Verbally reporting to trained staff and relaying concerns from patients and relatives to the nurse in charge in respect of changes in patient condition Working within the practice and personal boundaries Participating in meetings and training as required Developing personal knowledge and skills Contributing to audit and other quality/service improvement interventions Accountability to all partners Any other duties that may be assigned Personal Qualities and Attributes Upholds the values as defined in the NHS Constitution Demonstrates key behaviours consistent with delivering compassionate care Motivated, able and committed to working on own initiative or as part of a team Reliable, resilient, flexible and responsive to change in accordance with practice needs Values the opinions of others Willingness to undergo training/education for both practice and service needs Willingness to work towards professional and performance objectives Knowledge and Skills Confident with SystmOne Ability to work with attention to detail and accuracy Basic understanding of the needs of the patient and the role of the HCA Understanding of person‑centred care Understands issues regarding accountability and delegation Experience Experience of working within a healthcare setting Experience of working as a phlebotomist Experience or knowledge of primary care Specific Conditions of Employment Staff must not be patients of the practice, and nor should their immediate family members (parents, children/grandchildren, spouses/partners, siblings) – to avoid any conflict of interest Qualifications Experienced Health Care Assistant Additional Information Valid driver’s licence and own transport – role requires travel across four sites (BD5, BD7, BD8) Full‑time or part‑time hours Salary depending on experience Permanent contract Working pattern: Full‑time or part‑time Reference number: A1425-25-0009 Location: Kensington Street Health Centre, Whitefield Place, Bradford, West Yorkshire, BD8 9LB Application deadline: 25 November 2025 Disclosure and Barring Service Check required (Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1975) Employer: Kensington Partnership – kbs.org #J-18808-Ljbffr
