This is an exciting opportunity to play a crucial role in maintaining and improving our thermal processing assets — ensuring reliability, consistency, and world-class performance to support our ambitious growth plans. What you’ll be doing as our Furnace Monitoring Technician Monitor and control all thermal processing assets in real time, including furnaces, ovens, kilns, and oxidisers. Detect and act on early warning signals to prevent safety, quality, or delivery issues. Acknowledge and contain alarms quickly, escalating and coordinating responses to minimise downtime. Validate furnace recipes, interlocks, and permissives prior to each cycle, ensuring correct setup and safety compliance. Maintain accurate and complete logs of all furnace cycles, alarms, interventions, and approvals. Trend and analyse process data (temperature uniformity, vacuum levels, gas flow, soak profiles, leak rates, etc.) to identify potential issues. Collaborate closely with Maintenance, Reliability, Quality, and Production teams to ensure consistent performance. Support planned maintenance activities by providing data, access, and functional verification. Conduct daily and weekly reporting on furnace performance, downtime, and reliability metrics. Ensure traceability and compliance with quality standards, supporting customer and ISO audits. Maintain disciplined process control, housekeeping, and adherence to 5S standards. Contribute to continuous improvement projects and suggest process enhancements. The Skills, Knowledge and Experience you’ll need as our Furnace Monitoring Technician Essential Previous experience working with industrial furnaces or ovens (vacuum or controlled atmosphere). Understanding of combustion safety, vacuum systems, sensors, and control loops (PID). Experience with HMI/SCADA/MES systems for live process monitoring. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data trends. High attention to detail and disciplined approach to logging and documentation. Excellent communication skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure. Strong focus on safety, quality, and compliance. Desirable Experience in a manufacturing or high-temperature processing environment. Knowledge of TPM/AM, FMEA, or Root Cause Analysis tools. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CMMS software.
