About the roleGeneral Practitioner – Out of hours at Practice Plus Group, located near Brixton underground station. The role is part‑time, working Saturdays from 8am to 4pm (8 hours per week). The salary is up to £129,500 full‑time equivalent per annum, depending on experience.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver high‑quality primary care to a diverse group of patients within a secure prison environment.Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis, and make timely decisions regarding future management.Prescribe and manage medications for same‑day, leaver, acute health needs and substance misuse detox.Support the wider health team and contribute to clinical governance and effectiveness activities.BenefitsBespoke induction including the Introducing Health in Justice training course.Competency framework and regional/national career development opportunities.Bespoke Learning Management System to support your learning needs.Employee assistance helpline and financial assistance.QualificationsMBChB or MBBS.Inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List.Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal and continuing professional development.Experience as a General Practitioner in community general practice.Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse.RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or preparation to undertake these qualifications.Additional InformationCandidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK.
