Nursery Practitioner

This cosy setting close to Brixton, a few minutes’ walk from the train and tube stations is seeking a Nursery Practitioner to join their dedicated and friendly team. With plenty of facilities including the use of a swimming pool and soft play area, you will assist in the implementation of a broad curriculum of activities including science experiments, woodwork, cooking, messy arts and more. Caring for children from birth to 5 years old, you will support the children making sure they receive rich and stimulating experiences appropriate to their age and developmental stage. You will feed the childrens’ curiosities and stretch their imaginations with a creative and fun-filled curriculum. - Ensure that all children attending the nursery receive a high level of education which contributes to their stage of development
- Build close working relationships with the team, Parents and carers, with open and clear communication
- The Nursery Practitioner supports the team in planning and implementing the curriculum
- Maintain the nursery’s high standards, by following company policies, procedures and operating practices
- Mentor more junior members of the room staff so they can grow and develop their capabilities

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

- Minimum Level 3 recognised Childcare qualification
- Previous experience gained in a nursery setting
- Effective communication skills to interact with children, parents, and the team
- Good record-keeping skills, and able to adopt nursery policies and health and safety guidelines
- The ability to work effectively with the whole nursery team, encouraging a positive and collaborative environment
