Computer Studies Lecturer

Lecturer – Computer Science and Data Science Department: Academic/Bath Spa University partnership (BSU) Location: Greenford or Stratford (On‑Site) Salary: £55,000 Contract: Full‑Time, Permanent (40 hours per week) About the role: We are searching for Lecturers to teach across a range of undergraduate levels in our BSc (Hons) Computing programme. The role requires flexibility to teach on weekdays, evenings and weekends. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. What you will be doing: As a Lecturer in Computing at Global Banking School, you will deliver modules centred on the programme’s three main themes: Technology, Software and Data. You will develop and deliver comprehensive course materials, equipping students with knowledge of database systems, internet technologies, data, cyber‑security, networking and business information systems. You will handle all aspects of learning, teaching, assessment and stay current with developments in your field and student support practices. All aspects of planning, delivering and assessing student work, ensuring all learning outcomes are met. Developing, updating and improving course materials as appropriate. Using a variety of learning and teaching methods/materials. Actively engaging in staff development activities, peer observations, meetings and other administrative duties. Keeping up to date with latest developments in your field and student support practices. Working towards clearly defined objectives for student attendance, continuation, completion, satisfaction and progression. About You Hold a Master’s degree in a relevant subject area (PhD desirable). Previous UK HE lecturing experience in the wider subject area. Extensive knowledge of at least two of the following areas: Programming and software development Web development Database systems Cloud computing Networking Cybersecurity IoT and emerging technologies Business IT systems IT management AI and Machine Learning Operating Systems UI/UX Experience supervising student work and providing support and feedback. Experience of accurate reporting and maintaining thorough, organised student records. Able to work under pressure, plan and prioritise own workload to meet tight deadlines. Excellent communication, interpersonal and team‑working skills. Capable of working with diverse groups of people. Desirable Postgraduate Certificate of Academic Practice or equivalent teaching qualification, or commitment to enrol on a teaching programme during the probationary period and complete within three years. Experience designing/developing academic or professional education programmes or equivalent.
