Computer Studies Lecturer Employer: GEDU Global Education Department: Academic/Bath Spa University partnership (BSU) Location: Greenford or Stratford (On‑Site) Salary: £55,000 Contract: Full‑Time, Permanent (40 hours/week) Our Vision: Changing lives through education. The role We are currently seeking Lecturers to teach across a range of undergraduate levels as part of our BSc (Hons) Computing programme. Due to our delivery model, we require flexibility to teach during weekdays, evenings and at weekends. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. What you will be doing As a Lecturer in Computing at Global Banking School, you will deliver modules based around the three main themes of the programme: Technology, Software and Data. You will develop and deliver comprehensive course materials that equip students with knowledge of database systems, internet technologies, data, cyber security, networking and business information systems. You will undertake all aspects of learning, teaching and assessment of students and keep updated with latest developments in your field and student support practices. Responsibilities Plan, deliver and assess student work, ensuring all learning outcomes are met Develop, update and improve course materials as appropriate Use a variety of learning and teaching methods/materials Actively engage in staff development activities, peer observations, meetings and other administrative duties Keep up to date with latest developments in your field and student support practices Work towards defined objectives for student attendance, continuation, completion, satisfaction and progression About you Hold a Master’s degree in a relevant subject area (PhD desirable) Have previous UK HE lecturing experience in the wider subject area Demonstrate extensive knowledge of two or more of the following areas: programming and software development, web development, database systems, cloud computing, networking, cybersecurity, IoT and emerging technologies, business IT systems, IT management, AI and machine learning, operating systems, UI/UX Have experience supervising student work and providing support and feedback Have experience of accurate reporting and ability to maintain thorough and organised student records Can work under pressure, plan and prioritise own workload to meet tight deadlines Excellent communication, interpersonal and team‑working skills Can work with diverse groups of people Desirable Hold a Postgraduate Certificate of Academic Practice or equivalent teaching qualification (or commitment to enrol on a teaching programme during the probationary period and complete within three years) or Fellowship of HEA (or international equivalent) Experience of design / development of academic or professional education programmes or equivalent What we offer 25 days annual leave, plus 8 public holidays 1‑day extra leave per year of service, up to a maximum of 5 days Workplace pension scheme Tuition reimbursement for career development courses Flexible benefits: Cycle to Work, Workplace Nursery, Tech scheme and much more Perks@Work discounts platform, wellbeing centre and much more Reward and recognition programme £500 award employee referral scheme Discretionary annual performance bonus Equality and Diversity GBS is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and providing a workplace free from discrimination or harassment.
