Advanced Practitioner (Social Worker) for the newly developed Duty Team - Ref: SS03725 Salary: G10; £47,181 - £50,269 1 x Full time 37 hours post, permanent Note: As this is a new position, there is an expectation that the successful candidate would be office based. Subject to review once team is established. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Duty Team (locality based) within Walsall. The ideal candidates will already have demonstrated competence with supporting staff and a commitment to their continued professional development with a post qualifying qualification as a BIA, Practice Educator or AMHP. Your role would be to assist the Team Managers by supporting and overseeing front line duty practitioners and working closely with our internal reablement team, community assets and health colleagues. As part of this role you will be responsible for completion of practice development and liaising closely with the locality-based teams to provide a robust customer experience and improve outcomes for adults in Walsall. Whilst ensuring that all staff operate in accordance with legislation, the Councils policies, service specific standards and the Social Work Code of Practice. You’ll facilitate practice improvement and development within the team through high quality consistent reflective supervision and appraisal for a small group of staff including professional mentoring to drive up quality standards. We have a great opportunity for Advanced Practitioners to complement our existing Walsall Council Adult Locality Teams. About us Our dynamic and welcoming team work with adults, their carers and families. We support people from age 18 years onwards and work closely with our health colleagues to make a difference. The locality-based teams within adult social care is made up of a Team Manager, Advanced Practitioners, Social Workers, Social Care Facilitators, Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy Assistants, with a wealth of experience amongst us. We undertake assessments, support planning and reviews under the Care Act 2014, working closely with Health partners, Commissioners, and other external agencies to provide a holistic approach to supporting individuals. We work to a strengths-based and risk enabling model to achieve great outcomes and independence for the people we support. About you We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed professional, to help shape and deliver our service. Ideally qualified as an AMHP, BIA or Practice Educator with experience of supervising and supporting staff. The successful applicant will be ready to support us to deliver the day-to-day oversight and support of the team, and to improve outcomes for the adults of Walsall. You will be responsible for supporting staff to deliver the best outcomes, while ensuring they operate in a manner consistent with legislation, the council's policies, service specific standards and the Social Work England Code of Practice. You will contribute and facilitate practice improvement and development within the team by: Developing strong community links and promotion of community assets. Delivery of information and advice in a timely and outcomes focused approach. Delivering strengths-based assessments. Supporting planning and reviews under the Care Act 2014. Risk assessments and management of risk. Mental capacity assessments. Recognising an adult safeguarding concern and raising new referrals. You will be confident in setting the standards for Social Work practice and approaches to assessment, be able to demonstrate dynamic problem solving, by leading and developing the behaviours of team members.
