Job Title: Occupational Therapist

Location: Cranborne, Dorset

Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Salary: £32,302 - £38,729 per annum (based on experience)

Role Overview:

Our client is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join their multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the functional and educational development of their students. You will work closely with students, teachers, and families to assess individual needs, develop personalized intervention plans, and provide therapeutic support to enhance students' independence and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support the provision of an Occupational Therapy Service which is run efficiently to meet students' needs effectively and in line with EHCPs. This includes direct intervention with students, provision of programmes and guidance delivered by others, and support for the staff team to ensure that Occupational Therapy support is integrated into the delivery of the wider service.
  2. Provide professional support, leadership, and supervision to OT-Assistants as appropriate.
  3. Provide Occupational Therapy training, support, and advice to members of the multidisciplinary teams.
  4. Attend appropriate multidisciplinary student reviews and team meetings; promoting a culture of joint working with other disciplines and outside agencies.

Person Specification:

  1. A recognised degree in Occupational Therapy and current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  2. An interest in supporting children and young adults with complex needs and diagnoses including ASD, ADHD, and social, emotional, and mental health difficulties.
  3. An interest in supporting students with sensory modulation difficulties and motor coordination difficulties.
  4. Ability to demonstrate and commit to continual professional development.
  5. A strong desire to make a difference to young people.
  6. A creative and adaptable approach to work.
  7. Ability to design and develop individual treatment programmes.
  8. Ability to form good working relationships with a wide variety of people.
