The Role The Stockroom Manager is responsible for leading the back‑of‑house team to ensure operational excellence, stock integrity, and efficient support for front‑of‑house sales. This role is pivotal in driving stockroom standards, improving efficiencies, and ensuring the layout and processes directly contribute to store revenue. The Stockroom Manager works collaboratively with the service team and supports the Assistant Manager in maintaining a high‑performing, well‑organised, and secure stockroom environment. Responsibilities Lead and manage the back‑of‑house team, ensuring stockroom operations are executed with pace, efficiency and accuracy, while holding direct line management responsibility for Stockroom Assistants. Drive operational standards and continuous improvement in stockroom processes and layout. Ensure the stockroom layout supports commercial goals and contributes to store revenue. Manage stock files, resolve discrepancies and drive improvements in stock integrity. Monitor and resolve negative stock issues while maintaining accurate inventory records. Collaborate with the service team to ensure seamless replenishment and product availability. Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation and safety in the stockroom. Support training and development of stockroom team members to ensure operational excellence. Deputise for the Assistant Manager in their absence, overseeing all back‑of‑house operations. Identify opportunities to improve stockroom performance and communicate them to management. Ensure compliance with security procedures and maintain awareness of loss prevention measures. Qualifications Strong understanding of stockroom operations, inventory systems and retail logistics. Proven ability to lead a team in a fast‑paced environment with a focus on efficiency and accuracy. Experience in managing stock integrity, resolving discrepancies and maintaining accurate records. Ability to work collaboratively across departments to support store performance. Skilled in training and mentoring team members to uphold operational standards. Capable of evaluating and implementing process improvements to enhance stockroom efficiency. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with colleagues and management. Produces routine reports and documents to support operational transparency and decision‑making.
