Offshore Field Engineer

Overview A key role within our Operations team providing assistance to a project in preparation of the project execution onboard the vessel and to check the equipment before and during the mobilisation. You will support offshore operations and ensure that construction activities are performed in accordance with procedures in a safe and efficient manner. Reporting to the Offshore Manager you may also be required to assist the current project in undertaking engineering tasks relating to offshore operations. What’s your story? Working alongside an exceptional team of Project, Construction and Marine colleagues, here are some of the things we are looking for from you as an Offshore Field Engineer: Educated to BSc/BEng or higher level in wither a mechanical or electrical discipline and/or appropriate industry training in engineering Ability to lead and function within a design team and across multiple projects Ability to prioritise own workload, manage time accordingly and inform team members where constraints will affect a project in terms of programme or budget Manage interfaces within a project structure, including other disciplines, drawing office, document control, project management, client and suppliers Manage change control within own remit on a project. Inform team members where constraints will affect a project in terms of programme or budget Demonstrate ability to work within time/budget constraint Show high technical competence in key discipline areas Appropriate offshore professional experience in subsea construction with installation of flexible risers and umbilicals Working knowledge of oil and gas industry technical specifications and standards or best practice Constant and consistent precision and details should be demonstrable together with the ability to work and solve problems independently Ability to work as part of a team with good organisational and excellent communication skills Good technical writing skills Ability to rapidly understand and adopt new concepts Results orientated with the ability to act decisively Ability to perform under high pressure and meet deadlines Experience in risk identification / assessment Possess Seafarer Medical (ENG1) and OEUK Medical Possess survival certificate to OPITO standard Responsibilities Become familiar with the vessel\'s capability and ensure engineering documentation and drawings appropriate to the vessel systems are maintained onboard to reflect the status of the vessel Identify problem areas on aspects of the systems for improvement to increase the efficiency of the installation processes Ensure a comprehensive logbook during the project work is maintained to assist handover between replacements and in compilation of as-built books Identify improvements to the engineering process Provide specialist skills, integrity and knowledge in key areas of discipline engineering, including design codes, legislative requirements and current good engineering practice Ensure all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed Provide technical interface between the Project, Construction and Marine personnel on the vessel Give direct operational guidance to deck, VLS equipment, ROV and services personnel Recommend new work methods to improve safety and/or efficiency Provide operational input to onshore project teams throughout the onshore phase of projects Participate in project HAZIDs and HAZOP\'s Participate in review of offshore procedures and feedback to project engineers onshore Promote safety culture and initiatives to the construction crew throughout all offshore activities Inspection of construction equipment and reporting potential problems to the appropriate discipline leads Assist the Asset Management Group in updating of relevant vessel and equipment documentation What we offer A flexible organisation characterised by direct lines of communication and swift decision-making processes, our voice is always heard in Ocean Installer Encouragement to be creative, join our workplace committees and put forward ideas and suggestions A great working environment in a dynamic and international company Competitive pension and insurance schemes A flexible approach to working where we can provide the opportunity to do this We can offer the platform and opportunity to invest in your own future, build your expertise and contribute to a positive, fun and diverse working environment.
