Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – TipTopJob Location: Cheltenham | Term: Permanent | Salary: GBP 40,000 – 50,000 per annum (dependent on experience) My client is a manufacturer of specialist products for a variety of sectors, and they are looking to take on a Design Engineer on a permanent basis in the Cheltenham area. Qualifications Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar Design Engineering / CAD Operation position Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualification in Mechanical Engineering or similar Previous experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment Proficiency using 3D CAD software such as Inventor, SolidWorks, Creo, etc. Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances Ability to work well alone and as part of a small multi‑disciplinary team Ability to carry out mechanical calculations Previous experience working with process machinery or steel/metal materials desirable Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficiency using MS Office Excellent organisational and time‑management skills Responsibilities Working within the current engineering team with other Design Engineers Producing 3D designs using Autodesk Inventor CAD software and 2D designs with AutoCAD Liaising with manufacturing providers Being involved in final assembly of products Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports and plans Updating 3D models and drawings Inputting parts into the MRP system and creating BOMs Checking drawings for sign‑off Working in a small multi‑disciplinary team on varied projects If you are interested in this position, please apply with an up to date CV as soon as possible.
