We are a multidisciplinary team with integrated workshop and logistics teams onsite. We work to deliver an innovative service across Doncaster. We complete holistic assessments, meeting commissioned mobility needs directly, and providing access, via personal wheelchair budgets, to equipment that meets lifestyle goals. We are a relatively unique as an almost entirely ageless healthcare service. We work with anybody with a long term wheeled mobility need. Main duties of the job The successful candidate will be required to: Provide person centred and holistic assessments of clients mobility, postural and pressure care needs. Plan and organise own workload and support the work of others in the team, to provide a responsive service. Carry a caseload of clients eligible for NHS wheelchair provision. This could include simple manual provision, configurable lightweight or active user provision, powered wheelchairs, specialist buggies, postural management, and pressure care provision. Your caseload will be modified over time to reflect your development in post and you will enjoy a structured development path based around NWMF competencies. Assist in the operational management of the service and to participate in specific service developments relevant to the specialist area. Provide clinical education, training and advice to junior staff, students, assistants, and other members of the team. Person Specification Qualifications Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Rehab Engineering or Clinical Science or Registered General Nurse Professional body registration Access to transport and the ability to travel within the required geographical area. Experience Ability to demonstrate judgement in complex clinical problems, which require investigating, analysis, assessing and resolving. Multi-disciplinary working as part of an integrated team. Ability to monitor own performance through effective use of clinical, professional, peer and line management supervision and appraisal and manage own caseload. An understanding of the principles of clinical governance. Understanding of professional conduct and confidentiality. Experience in clinical areas such as community, outpatients, neurology, paediatrics, elderly care, specialist wheelchair service or related field. Documented evidence of continued professional development. Experience and knowledge around NHS wheelchair provision Experience of working with wheelchair clients. Evidence of positive engagement in change management. Experience of delegation to less qualified staff. Experience of using SystemOne Experience of working within the NHS. Awareness of budgetary constraints Knowledge Understanding of team dynamics and an awareness of how to be an effective team member. Basic knowledge of health legislation and current practice, including, risk management A/I and assessment, mental capacity act, safeguarding.
