The vision is simple - fuse the creativity of a design studio, with the innovation of a tech lab, to create a one‑stop shop for extraordinary guest‑centric, 360 attraction experiences.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & StrategyLead and manage members of the show systems engineering team with a focus on video and lighting systemsHelp to define and implement departmental standards, workflows, and design methodologies.Support the Technical Directors in strategic planning, team development, and business growth.Mentor junior engineers and designers, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and excellence.Design & Technical DeliveryOversee concept, schematic, and detailed design of all video and lighting systems, ensuring technical feasibility and alignment with creative intent on larger projects.Produce and review concept, schematic, and detailed design of all AVCL systems on smaller projects.Produce and review system documentation including concept sketches, schematics, equipment specifications, rack elevations, and cable schedules.Collaborate with other disciplines and department — show control, audio, scenic, AV, and mechanical — to deliver cohesive systems.Ensure designs meet safety, maintainability, and operational requirements.Provide technical oversight during mock‑ups, testing, integration, and commissioning phases.Client & Project ManagementAct as the senior technical point of contact for clients on all video and lighting matters on large projects.Act as the project lead for clients on all SSE disciplines (AVCL) on smaller projects.Present designs and strategies to clients, creative partners, and project stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner.Coordinate with external vendors, integrators, and specialist contractors to ensure design intent and quality standards are maintained through fabrication and installation.Manage scope, schedule, and budgets for assigned technical packages.Innovation & DevelopmentChampion research into emerging technologies in projection, LED, lighting control, and immersive media.Develop internal tools, libraries, and processes to improve design efficiency and consistency.Contribute to company thought leadership and technical R&D initiatives, helping to position the consultancy as a global leader in themed entertainment technology.Health, Safety & ComplianceEnsure all designs comply with relevant UK, EU, and international standards for electrical safety and structural integration.Incorporate risk management, accessibility, and sustainability considerations into design solutions.You should haveMinimum 8 years’ experience in video and/or lighting design for themed entertainment, visitor attractions, immersive experiences, or large‑scale live environments.Proven track record in delivering projects from concept through to commissioning, preferably within a consultancy or design studio environment.Expert knowledge of:Lighting systems: Pharos, ETC, MA Lighting, Strand, sACN, DMX, DALI.Video systems: projection, LED display, media servers (7th Sense, disguise, WATCHOUT, Hippotizer), and video processing.Control & networking: working knowledge of show control and protocols (Medialon, Alcorn McBride, Q‑SIS), timecode, IP‑based networks.Strong understanding of attraction development processes — concept design, schematic design, detailed design, and tender documentation.Exceptional design documentation and communication skills using tools such as AutoCAD, Vectorworks, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite.Strong interpersonal skills and experience working collaboratively with creative and technical stakeholders.Personal AttributesA collaborative leader with a balance of creative vision and technical precision.Passionate about storytelling through light, media, and technology.Excellent communicator who can bridge creative and engineering disciplines.Strategic thinker with attention to detail and a proactive, problem‑solving approach.Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to travel internationally to support project delivery.It would be great if you haveExperience within a themed entertainment design consultancy or systems integration environment.Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent professional accreditation.Knowledge of projection mapping, interactive media, and emerging immersive display technologies.Familiarity with international building and electrical standards (BS, EN, IEC).Experience mentoring or building technical teams.What We OfferA competitive salary and benefits package.A vibrant, inclusive, and dynamic work environment.Opportunities for personal and professional growth.A chance to be part of a forward‑thinking team making a real difference.What it's like working at CONDUCTRCONDUCTR is proud to be recognised as a Great Place to Work®, officially certified for our outstanding workplace culture and employee satisfaction.
