Night Support Worker – Riverside, Bristol, United Kingdom Job Details Job Title: Night Support Worker Contract Type: Permanent Salary: £26,549.63 + 10% night allowance per annum (total £27,722.51 after 18 months of successful performance) Working Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week Working Pattern: Rolling rota, shifts between 07:15 – 22:15 (early, mid and late), one in three weekends Location: Jamaica Street Project, Bristol We recruit to potential as well as skill and experience. Responsibilities You will work from one of our supported services, providing support to customers in many ways, such as: Connecting customers with employability coaches and other support agencies Helping manage their money, apply for benefits and move towards permanent homes Boosting confidence and supporting their journey to rebuild their lives Keeping accurate records and carrying out the necessary administration Providing resilient, empathetic support, leaving work at work Role Profile – Supporting Customers Lead on co‑producing bespoke support and move‑on plans, involving key stakeholders where appropriate Organise and conduct regular reviews of support and risk plans or follow up after incidents/significant changes Engage customers to meet agreed outcomes and develop life skills Assist with day‑to‑day support and tenancy‑related matters Identify and promote opportunities for employment, education and training Signpost to external support services such as food banks Support customers to be ‘tenancy ready’ and financially independent through budgeting Support and monitor medical needs, ensuring appropriate contact with healthcare professionals Lead on support initiatives including group work Ensure safety by following safeguarding procedures and escalating risks appropriately Record and update factual, strengths‑based customer information on digital platforms Service Delivery Facilitate the referral process and assess potential new customers Contribute to housing management, including income collection and tenancy support Maintain safe environments by reporting repairs and health & safety concerns Prepare rooms as required Resolve challenging situations sensitively, balancing individual needs and service safety Develop local partnerships for holistic support Carry out day‑to‑day administration and operational duties Work flexible hours beyond normal office times, including lone working and travel within the service area Operate within Riverside’s policies (health & safety, safeguarding, GDPR, cash handling) Participate in team meetings, supervision and training sessions to develop skills Qualifications and Experience Essential Understand barriers faced by vulnerable and diverse groups with complex needs Deliver structured support and risk management Team player with caring, empathetic, flexible, resilient, can‑do attitude Experience resolving incidents positively Demonstrate initiative and confidence to make and act on decisions Competent in administrative and IT skills (reporting, communication) Desirable Knowledge of psychological or trauma‑informed approaches Experience working in challenging environments with planning and prioritising skills Knowledge of current benefit systems Experience in a care and support environment Benefits and Working Conditions Competitive pay and generous pension 28 days holidays plus bank holidays Flexible working options available Investment in learning, personal development and technology Wide range of benefits Diversity & Inclusion We are a Disability Confident Employer and operate a Guaranteed Interview Scheme for applicants who declare a disability, ensuring they have a guaranteed interview if they meet the minimum requirements.
