Role Description This is a full‑time on‑site role for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, located in Darlington. The responsibilities include assisting with cost control, preparing bills of quantities (BOQ), compiling invitation to tender packages, managing vendor payments and variations and supporting cost management and planning. The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will also be involved in cost reporting and ensuring the effective execution of commercial and procurement strategies as part of project deliverables. Qualifications Supporting experience in Cost Control and Cost Management processes. Ability in creating and managing Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and Cost Planning. Able to prepare and manage the invitation to tender process for vendor packages. Management of vendor payment process and package variations. Ability to prepare and deliver detailed Cost Reporting to clients and stakeholders. Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills. Proven ability to work on‑site and collaboratively with teams to meet project timelines. Ideally working towards a degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred. Industry certifications or accreditation in quantity surveying is an advantage. Experience with Microsoft 365 software suite, procurement software or construction‑specific tools is a plus. Benefits Competitive salary with annual bonus.
