Computer Studies Lecturer GEDU Global Education is seeking a Lecturer to teach across undergraduate levels as part of the BSc (Hons) Computing programme. This full‑time permanent role (40 hours per week) requires teaching on weekdays, evenings and weekends. Department: Academic/Bath Spa University partnership (BSU)Location: Birmingham (On‑Site)Salary: £51,000Contract: Full‑Time, Permanent (40 hours per week)Vision: Changing lives through education. What you'll be doing: As a Lecturer in Computing at Global Banking School, you will deliver modules based around the three main themes of the programme: Technology, Software, and Data. You will develop and deliver comprehensive course materials to equip students with an understanding of database systems, internet technologies, data, cyber‑security, networking and business information systems. You will undertake all aspects of learning, teaching and assessment, and keep up to date with latest developments in the field and student support practices. Role requirements: This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Responsibilities All aspects of planning, delivering and assessing student work, ensuring all learning outcomes are met. Develop, update and improve course materials as appropriate. Use a variety of learning and teaching methods and materials. Actively engage in staff development activities, peer observations, meetings and other administrative duties. Understand and keep up to date with latest developments in the field and student support practices. Work towards clearly defined objectives for student attendance, continuation, completion, satisfaction and progression. About You Hold a Master’s degree in a relevant subject area (PhD desirable). Have previous UK HE lecturing experience in the wider subject area. Demonstrate extensive knowledge in two or more of the following areas: Programming and software development Web development Database systems Cloud computing Networking Cybersecurity IoT and emerging technologies Business IT systems IT management AI and Machine Learning Operating Systems UI/UX Have experience supervising student work and providing support and feedback. Have accurate reporting experience and ability to maintain thorough and organised student records. Work under pressure, plan and prioritise workload to meet tight deadlines. Have excellent communication, interpersonal and team‑working skills. Be able to work with diverse groups of people. Desirable Hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice or equivalent teaching qualification (or commitment to enrol on such a programme during probation). Have experience designing or developing academic or professional education programmes.
