About the Role Domestic Assistant (2‑10pm) Days of Working: Monday to Friday 14:00–22:00pm Are you looking for a role where you can make a real difference in creating a safe and pleasant environment for patients, staff, and visitors? Join our team as a Domestic Assistant and be part of a supportive and dedicated group. Duties Dusting Low & High, vacuuming & washing down all areas Cleaning of any glass partitions Spot cleaning upholstery, curtains and carpets Cleaning of offices Cleaning of toilets, bathrooms, shower rooms and basins Replenishment of all soaps, hand towels and toilet paper Emptying and cleaning of waste bins Cleaning of clinical areas Cleaning of therapy rooms Cleaning of corridors Cleaning of bedrooms (where applicable) Removal and re‑hanging of curtains, allowing trust staff to launder Key Responsibilities The Domestic Assistant should work closely with other staff to ensure a safe and pleasant environment is provided for patients, staff and visitors. Regular removal of waste ensuring the correct use of bags and labelling procedures, and ensuring that bags are disposed of in the correct waste bins in designated areas. Ensure that clinical waste bags are secured with correct tape in accordance with hospital procedures and colour coding. Use all chemicals/cleaning agents in a safe and economical manner and in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions, using only chemicals supplied by the business. Undertake deep clean, clinical clean, admission and infection cleans as required by infection control procedure, including removal, laundering and hanging of curtains. Report immediately to the Hotel Services Team Leader any defective machinery for further reporting to the Estates Department for repair. Ideal Candidate Right to Work in the UK. Education to GCSE standard, including Maths and English. Experience and knowledge of computer technologies. Knowledge of National Standards of Cleanliness and understanding of COSHH and Health and Safety procedures. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff and visitors. Enhanced DBS will be completed for the successful candidate.
