Special Needs Teaching Assistants – FarnboroughSpecialist schools in the Farnborough area are looking for caring, dedicated and motivated individuals to join their teams as Special Needs Teaching Assistants (SEN TAs). These roles offer the chance to make a meaningful difference to the lives of children and young people with a wide range of additional needs, supporting them to learn, grow and achieve their potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside experienced teachers and therapists to support pupils aged 2–19 with complex learning needs. Many of the children you’ll work with may have autism, moderate to severe learning difficulties, communication challenges, or physical and sensory needs. Every child has an individual learning plan, and your role will be to help them access learning in a way that suits them best.Day-to-day responsibilities may include:Supporting classroom activities and adapting materials to meet individual needsEncouraging communication using symbols, sign, or visual aidsAssisting with sensory-based learning and therapeutic activitiesPromoting independence, confidence, and social interactionProviding personal care where required and ensuring pupil safety and wellbeingYou’ll be part of a collaborative, supportive team that values compassion, patience, and creativity. Training is provided, and new staff are fully supported to develop their skills and confidence in working with pupils with additional needs.This role would suit someone who is:Calm, empathetic, and resilientAble to build positive relationships with pupils and staffReliable and committed to helping children achieve their personal goalsPrevious experience in education, care, or youth work is helpful but not essential.
