Grounds Team Leader

Job Advert We’re looking for a proactive Grounds Team Leader to join our Estates team at mhs homes. In this role, you’ll deliver high-quality grounds maintenance services across our properties, ensuring excellent customer service and supporting a team of operatives to achieve outstanding results. What you’ll do: Mentor and guide Grounds Operatives to deliver a “right first time” service. Ensure all works are completed on time and to company standards. Keep handheld devices updated for each site covered. Act as the first point of contact on-site, setting standards and providing updates. Oversee allocated vehicle checks and ensure daily emptying. Carry out grounds maintenance tasks including: Grass cutting using powered machinery and manual tools. Weed spraying and clearing rubbish. Soft landscaping and maintaining shrub/flower beds. Turf repairs and seeding. Garden maintenance for properties as per planned schedules. Tree works including pruning and lopping. Respond to emergency situations and assist with snow clearance as per policy. Support caretaking, empty homes, and garden clearance where needed. What we’re looking for: Experience in grounds work or caretaking, with a track record of delivering excellent results. Previous experience leading a team. Strong customer communication skills and ability to work collaboratively. Competent in using handheld devices (smartphones) for updates. Ability to carry out minor servicing of powered tools and basic vehicle checks. Flexible to work weekend rota duties.
