They are seeking a skilled and flexible Senior or Principal Geotechnical Consultant to join their team, with a focus on property redevelopment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in geotechnical engineering, excellent project management skills, and a proven track record in leading complex property redevelopment and ground engineering projects. This role involves providing technical leadership, strategic direction and innovative solutions to support our clients’ needs. Applications are welcomed from individuals seeking flexible roles, and this role can comprise a mixture of office / remote working, provided you are available to support the wider team and clients.ResponsibilitiesTechnical Leadership: Provide expert geotechnical consultation and oversight for geotechnical and geoenvironmental projects, ensuring high-quality technical deliverables.Execute and supervise geotechnical investigations, site assessments, soil and rock testing and analysis for foundation and substructures, slope stability, retaining walls and ground improvement design.Develop and review geotechnical reports, recommendations and design specifications.Project Management: Lead and manage multiple geotechnical projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets and quality standards.Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil engineers, environmental scientists and construction managers, to deliver integrated solutions.Prepare project proposals, cost estimates and schedules.Client Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing clear communication, addressing concerns and managing expectations.Develop and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for additional services and business growth.Present findings, recommendations and project updates to clients and stakeholders.Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with relevant local and national regulations and industry standards.Stay updated on regulatory changes and industry best practises, integrating them into project planning and execution.Team Development: Mentor and develop junior geotechnical staff, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.Conduct training sessions and workshops to enhance technical skills and knowledge within the team.Promote a culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Geology, Civil Engineering, or a related Geoscience field. A graduate qualification in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology is beneficial.Chartered Engineer / Geologist (CEng/CGeol) status with a relevant institution (e.g. ICE, Geological Society) or demonstrable evidence you are working towards this.
