Junior Physiotherapist, Rotational – Overview Apply for a junior physiotherapist rotational role at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The post is based at Princess Royal University Hospital, Farnborough Common, Orpington and involves four‑month rotations across various clinical areas. Key Responsibilities Provide high standard, efficient, and effective physiotherapy assessment, treatment, and intervention for all patients. Assess, treat, manage your own caseload as an autonomous practitioner, maintaining comprehensive records. Communicate effectively with patients, carers, and the multidisciplinary team. Supervise physiotherapy assistants and may be involved in teaching MDT staff. Undertake evidence‑based projects during each rotation to enhance patient care. Work on a 7‑day roster, including overnight on‑call and weekend duty as required. Work across multiple sites depending on service needs. Communication & Representation Facilitate effective communication and rapport for patients with diverse abilities. Educate patients, relatives, and carers. Collaborate closely with physiotherapists and other team members. Provide advice and training to other disciplines. Human Resources Management Attend physiotherapy staff meetings and performance assessment programmes. Participate in supervision sessions with line manager. Maintain confidentiality and data protection compliance. Physical Resources Management Keep treatment areas safe and tidy. Ensure competent equipment use and report faults. Training, Education and Research Engage in in‑service and postgraduate education for professional development. Lead training sessions according to rotation. Maintain CPD activity and competency portfolio. Complete yearly evidence‑based projects and present them to the team. Support education programmes for visitors and other disciplines. General Duties Show duty of care for your own health and safety as well as that of patients, staff, and visitors. Apply trust policies, procedures, and standards, and maintain strict confidentiality. Take responsibility for personal development and contribute to colleague development. Person Specification Essential Qualifications: Completed physiotherapy degree or recognised qualification; HCPC registered or registration pending before employment. Essential Experience: Wide-ranging student experience including hospital settings. Essential Skills: Efficient caseload management Clear verbal & written reporting in English Handling communication difficulties Strong teamwork and interdisciplinary understanding Project completion within timeframes Recognise own training needs and delegate appropriately Desirable: MCSP, knowledge of NHS structure, skills in respiratory, neurological, orthopaedic, and MSK presentations. Working Conditions Contract: Permanent, full‑time. Pay Scheme: Agenda for Change, Band 5. Salary: £35,763 to £43,466 per annum, inclusive of HCA. Working Pattern: 7‑day rota, extended hours during some rotations, on‑call and weekend duties.
