Senior Category Manager – Rolls‑Royce SMR Salary: £68,000 – £85,000 DOE Locations: Derby, Manchester, Warrington Reporting to the Head of Category, Senior Category Manager leads procurement of specialised materials or services for the RR SMR powerplant, driving category management, supplier relationships, market knowledge, and data‑driven innovation. Key Responsibilities Deliver procurement outcomes for direct goods and services within their category. Lead a small team across the core procurement process. Build proactive supplier relationships, demonstrate market knowledge, and leverage data and analytics to drive innovation and risk mitigation. Negotiate global deals with suppliers in partnership with the Head of Category. Ensure all procurement practices comply with legal, ethical, regulatory, and sustainability requirements. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Key Results & Achievements Deliver direct goods and services on time and within cost for the RR SMR fleet. Demonstrate value for money and cost savings across the product lifecycle and fleet deployment. Establish a robust, collaborative supply base supporting localisation and business objectives. Key Selection Criteria Knowledge of complex category management and procurement; proven outcomes in value for money and business support. Track record in procurement activity, contract management, and supplier relationship management. Strong negotiation skills, strategic thinking, and data‑led decision making. Construction or Manufacturing supply chain experience. Ability to engage senior suppliers and present at senior level within RR SMR. High ethical standards and integrity. Additional Screening Requirements Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance. Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Basic financial probity check.
