You will have excellent organisational and communication skills as well as being able to work flexibly in relation to tasks undertaken.The main focus of this role will be to:Support students to learn and make progress in lessonsAssist the teacher/tutor in the preparation of workSupport students during school based and community-based learningEnsure students make progress in formal learning situations as well as with self-help skills, life skills and social understandingWe provide an induction and ongoing training and there are opportunities to develop your career.Candidate ProfileExperience not essential, we will give you all the training and support necessary. However, if you have a Teaching Assistant qualification and experience of relevant classroom support work then your starting salary could be higher.The ideal Teaching Assistant will have:A teaching assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)Knowledge of autism and/ or Special educational needsWell-developed organisation and communication skillsAbility to work flexibly in relation to tasks undertakenAbility to be a good team playerQualificationsNo criminal record including convictions, cautions, reprimands, bindings over or warnings which may be relevant to the safety and welfare of the students or staff.Clean, current car driving license (where minibus driving required)ExperienceExperience of working effectively as part of a teamExperience of successful relevant learning support work is preferable but not essentialExperience of relating positively to children/young peopleWe pride ourselves on being an Equal Opportunities Employer.
