Jackson Hogg is delighted to be supporting our client based in Middlesbrough with the appointment of a driven, ambitious mechanical engineer who has experience in both design, and ideally managing projects within the heavy engineering sector. This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading business that operates one of the UK's largest and most strategic port facilities, focusing on driving innovation, sustainability, and operational excellence to provide efficient supply chain solutions to businesses across the UK and beyond. The role is full-time and permanent (35 hours/week Mon-Friday), with flexible working hours, a competitive salary, excellent benefits, and a clear progression path.Responsibilities:Manage mechanical engineering aspects of capital projects, ensuring successful, safe, and cost-effective solutions in line with project requirements and regulatory standards.Design and develop mechanical solutions, ensuring technical specifications, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.Oversee procurement of mechanical equipment and services, managing relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.Ensure designs and systems comply with UK health, safety, and environmental standards, conducting risk assessments to ensure safety regulations are met.Develop and implement maintenance strategies for equipment, and support operations teams.Manage budgets for mechanical components, ensuring cost-effectiveness and maintaining quality.Previous experience using engineering software including AutoCAD, Inventor, and StaadPro.Excellent communication and problem-solving skills to report project progress to stakeholders and management.Requirements:Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).Chartership status highly advantageous.Strong design experience and ability to conduct calculations.Proven experience in the design and delivery of engineering projects.Ability to undertake technical hand calculations and use engineering analysis tools.Strong understanding of UK health, safety, and environmental regulations.Ability to report and communicate clearly and confidently with stakeholders and management.If this sounds like a role you're interested in, please apply online or get in touch with Eleanor at Jackson Hogg to learn more.Seniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionMechanical Engineering #J-18808-Ljbffr
