Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.ResponsibilitiesEnsure that the Site Planners plan all relevant customer deliveries utilising the software available at site to ensure delivery windows are metLiaise with the Customer as required in relation to delays and possible issues with deliveryDevelop back haul lanes with both Menzies depots and 3rd party customers whilst maintaining fleet utilisationCo-ordinate a late load report in line with operational requirements and deadlinesEnsure your drivers are compliant with Working Time DirectiveEnsure that the drivers regularly Download Driver cards for analysisEnsure that the Site Planners Comply with all Transport legislation reducing tachograph infringements to below the company target and adhering to WTD regulationsCommunicate routes to and liaise with other Menzies DepotsThrough liaising with your Site Planners that you are fully aware any delays and possible issues with deliverySource local agency drivers as and when required (in conjunction with our PSL) providing an accurate brief of job requiredSource local sub-contractors as and when requiredEnsure that Site Planners are aware that the loads meet safety standardsManage the Site Planners ensuring they are using the most efficient start timesEnsure adequate Pre-Briefing of Drivers is taking place by the Transport Supervisors to ensure that they fully understand their instructions.Ensure adequate De-Briefing of Drivers, by the Transport Supervisors, upon their return to ensure that all documentation has been completed correctlyEnsure compliance with Agency Driver checklistRecord trailer information on all inbound/outbound deliveries and stand trailersFully understand and communicate agreed KPI's for DepartmentAll other transport office related dutiesEnsuring all drivers are appropriately trained and familarised with both operations and equipmentFrom time to time, you may be requested to deputise for the Manager on daily plan/do/review callsLiaise with and feedback to driver agencies for ad-hoc and peak driver supportQualificationsPeople Management ExperienceCustomer Service ExperienceExperience of working in a busy Transport officeKnowledge of Drivers Hours, Tachograph and WTD legislationKnowledge of Continuous ImprovementGood standard of educationIT literateKnowledge of Health & SafetyKnowledge of transport systemsTechnical Skills & Behavioral CompetenciesLeading and engaging peopleDevelop self and othersSelf starter who works on their own initiativeAbility to prioritiseTeam PlayerLateral thinkerWorks well under pressureAble to develop relationships with others (both internal and external)Problem solving and decision-making skillsBenefits & PerksTime For You: Relax with 28 days of holiday inclusive of bank holidays.Give Back: Receive a paid day to volunteer for a charity of your choice.Appreciating You & Others: Celebrate special moments with Value Awards Driver of the Year Awards, with 3 days paid leave for our finalists, including a fun filled day out for you and your partner and attendance to the awards ceremony with guest speakers.Your Future: Join our contributory workplace pension scheme for financial security.Exclusive Discounts: Through your Healthcare Cash Plan you will have access to a discount portal, where you can make savings on travel and hotels, cinema tickets, days out and much more.
