THE ROLE As Interim Buyer you will support the Head of Buying in delivering a commercially successful strategy and curated product assortment within the Women’s Designer RTW category. You will lead the category strategy, buying appointments, product selection, build strong relationships with brands, and use sales insights to optimise trading decisions. What You’ll Do Lead the Designer RTW seasonal buying strategy, ensuring Browns’ product assortment remains best‑of, innovative and commercially successful. Drive buying appointments, market, and showroom visits; manage product selection and negotiate with brands. Source and introduce exciting new brands and products, solidifying Browns as a priority partner. Secure exclusives, limited distribution collaborations and OTB ambitions with key brands. Monitor and report on sales performance, sell‑through rates and market trends to inform buying and trading decisions. Collaborate with Merchandising to optimise and grow Open‑To‑Buy, manage inventory and drive department performance. Proactively identify opportunities and risks, ensuring the assortment remains competitive. Maintain brand retention and nurture relationships with existing and new brands. Lead negotiations to secure favourable terms and exclusives. Oversee accurate purchase orders, product uploads and vendor communication. Coordinate with Senior Buyer on store allocations, marketing and brand partnership activations. Stay up‑to‑date on trends, competitors and market developments. Who You Are Experience in Women’s RTW categories, with leading brand negotiations, OTB management and product selection. Strong commercial acumen, balancing creative intuition with data‑driven decision‑making. Analytical mindset able to interpret sales data and market trends. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with confidence in managing brand relationships. Highly organised, detail‑oriented and efficient in a fast‑paced environment. Proactive, solution‑focused and comfortable working independently or in a team. Proficient in Excel and comfortable with data analysis tools.
