Welcome to our school. Broomfield SILC is a generic special school for pupils aged 2 to 19 years. We operate four sites – the main site, and satellite sites at Windmill Primary, Rodillian Secondary and the new Post 16 provision The Future Steps Hub at White Rose Business Park. The school caters for a wide range of needs from moderate to severe learning difficulties, complex and multiple learning needs, autism, social, emotional and mental health needs, and additional physical, medical, speech and language, visual, hearing or sensory impairments. We currently have 271 pupils on roll. Broomfield secured a ‘Good’ Ofsted rating in March 2023, with inspectors noting our high ambitions, aspirations for all pupils and proud staff. Our community is committed to supporting young people to fulfill their potential, preparing them fully for their future with a focus on communication, independence, and emotional regulation. We are excited to share that the school will undergo rebuilding, opening to an additional 100 young people in September 2027. We are designing internal and external spaces to fully support our learners and community. We have an exciting opportunity for a full‑time permanent C1 position as a Job Coach based at the Future Steps Hub and within workplaces across Leeds, supporting our employability curriculum. Suitable candidates have experience working with young people with additional needs; experience in education, adult services or social care will be considered.
