Job Summary An opportunity has arisen in the Performance Management Department for an MDT Coordinator/Patient Pathway Tracker. The role requires an enthusiastic team member committed to having a positive impact on cancer patient pathways. Applicants should have experience working within the NHS, preferably in a cancer data environment, and a good understanding of current cancer pathways and MDT processes. Flexibility in working hours is required to meet the needs of the service. Microsoft Office Suite experience is essential, along with strong organisational and communication skills. Responsibilities Track target patients in a timely manner from referral to first treatment. Attend regular MDT meetings, provide updates on the patient pathway, and ensure meetings run effectively and are well structured. Accurately maintain a patient tracking list and circulate lists for discussion at each MDT meeting. Record attendance and outcomes of MDT meetings, distribute information to relevant team members, and input outcomes onto the local patient administration system (CWP). Coordinate the administrative pathway of patients with confirmed cancer to meet National Cancer Waiting Time standards. Proactively track cancer patients and raise any potential delays to the Cancer Performance Manager/Divisional Managers according to the escalation policy. Ensure up-to-date information is collected for the PTL (Patient Tracking List) and attend weekly meetings to discuss progress. Provide detailed breach analysis reports within 5 days of the first definitive treatment date for any 62‑day patients outside national standards. Maintain the generic 62‑day CaRPs inbox, processing and registering referrals in accordance with SOP. Support the teams in collecting evidence, documentation, and data for the National Peer Review Programme. Ensure that exceptions and alterations to individual patient waiting times are documented and auditable. Person Specification Essential Qualifications A comprehensive secondary education with a minimum of 5 GCSEs or relevant experience. ECDL certification. Desirable Qualifications Evidence of further education. Essential Experience Experience in the NHS environment. Working across organisational boundaries. Proven ability to work to tight deadlines. Problem‑solving techniques. Desirable Experience Experience working with multidisciplinary team members. Experience of COSD. Knowledge of clinical pathways. Essential Knowledge Knowledge of a patient’s pathway. Knowledge of the Cancer Services NHS Plan. Familiarity with a range of software including Microsoft Office, e‑mail and web browsers; good understanding of IT. Desirable Knowledge Knowledge of Trust policies and procedures. Essential Skills Extraction of information from databases. Communication skills to interact with all MDT/performance team members. Logical working with great attention to detail and initiative. Ability to read and interpret complex data and ensure accuracy. Strong Microsoft Office Suite knowledge. Team coordination skills. Presentation skills for senior staff meetings.
