Senior Engineer

Collaborating with, and drawing on the specialist skills of the group's business units we deliver a truly integrated, multidisciplinary service.Senior Engineers, we have an amazing opportunity for you to join our growing engineering team on our long term project in Plymouth.To be considered you must be a UK National as this position requires securtity clearanceResponsible for all engineering duties and ensuring the engineers under their control complete their duties. Educate and mentor the engineering team. They will also produce RAMS, temporary works briefs, ITP's, weekly progress and planning updates, NCR's, TQs and Early Warnings. The Senior Engineer may also be required to manage low complexity or short duration projects (typically preconstruction site investigation/survey activities and enabling works).All of the above (and below) is applicable for self-delivery and subcontracted works.Accountable for:SHE performance at site level to support Site Agent.Quality performance at site level with regard to standards of both workmanship and documentation.Accuracy of engineering controls and performance and management of site engineering team.Management of supply chain during construction: progress review / co-ordination / 360° degree review and feedback.ResponsibilitiesQuality performance at site level regarding standards of both workmanship and documentation.Support management of supply chain during construction: progress, co-ordination and feedbackResponsible for the production, review and monitoring of construction methodology documentation including RAMS and ITP's to ensuring compliance with the company's quality management system and the employers requirements.Responsible for production of as-built documentation from site.Responsible for materials forecast, procurement and reconciliation.Help collate and site data for inclusion in Daily Progress Reports.Responsible for the adherence of project team to information management procedures and requirementDimensional ControlManage the engineering function on your siteEnsure that accurate setting-out and control is provided and checked (VS direct or subcontractors):Establish accurate and clear setting-out on the ground.Communicate clearly to the subcontract personnel operatives what the setting-out is and how it should be used.Set-out in advance so that time is available to carry out any secondary checks.Maintain the long-term setting out.Maintain project stations.Instrument calibration and testingQualityUndertake buildability reviews of the design informationManage the production and implement the Inspection and Test Plan (ITPs) for your section of the worksManage the Request For Information (RFIs)Responsible for production of as-built documentation from site.Keep accurate records- diaries, photographs, marked up drawings, etc and ensure engineering team do the same.Ensure that For Construction drawings are available and checked at least two weeks prior to implementation.Be responsible for the correct implementation of the quality management system, where it affects your daily activities.Be aware of responsibilities from the Quality policies and support the implementation of Quality Ripple:Understand the project quality management plan and the roles and responsibility detailed within itMaintain and collate quality recordsRaise, complete and close-out NCR's, ensuring that registers and records are maintained and filed within WorkspaceAbout youManagement of safe systems of works and quality management.Excellent IT knowledge including use of AUTOCAD and Microsoft suite.Degree/HNC, or equivalent, in civil engineering desirable.3-5year previousGood communication skills with client representatives, site team and operativesAbility to challenge designs and resolve problems to conclusion.Full Driving Licence.UK NationalIf your past experience doesn't match perfectly with every requirement of the job description, we still encourage you to apply.
