Service Care Solutions – Recruiting on Behalf of Our Preston Client Role: Recovery Worker – Substance Misuse Service
Location: Preston
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
Pay Rate: £23 LTD per hour
About the Role: We are looking for Recovery Workers to join a dynamic Substance Misuse Service. You will support service users throughout their treatment and recovery journey, helping them reduce harm and reintegrate into the community.
Key Responsibilities:
Support service users from entry into the service through their recovery journey
Provide screening, assessment, recovery planning, and onward referral
Reduce drug and alcohol-related harm to service users and the wider community
Promote carer, service user, and community involvement
Advocate for access to partnership services
Deliver structured group sessions and workshops tailored to service user needs (e.g., anger management, sleep disorders, relationships)
Engage in debriefing and evaluations after group sessions
Support social reintegration, resilience, peer support, and self-determinationAbout You:
Strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience in a similar field
Experience delivering group sessions and managing group dynamics
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with good IT proficiency
Proactive, able to work independently with strong time management skills
Knowledge of mental health interventions and best practice
Ability to work collaboratively with professionals, agencies, and stakeholders
Committed to safeguarding information and following governance processes
