About the Role UNLOCK YOUR BEST WORK LIFE MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO EVERY LIFE We have an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner to join our healthcare team at HMP Leeds, a category B men’s prison based in Leeds, Yorkshire. HMP Leeds is a remand prison with a fast‑paced healthcare department that provides care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Within this role you will be working on evening receptions supporting the intake of new patients, which will require support with same‑day medications, acute needs and substance‑misuse withdrawal plans. Hours Monday and Tuesday 5pm-9pm Salary This position is part time; you’ll receive an annual salary up to £129,500 per annum FTE – depending on experience. As a General Practitioner, your responsibilities will vary. You will: Deliver first‑class healthcare to a diverse group of patients, and therefore as a General Practitioner at Practice Plus Group you will get the opportunity to further develop your knowledge in areas you wouldn’t usually experience within a practice, or even in an A&E environment. Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patients’ requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management. Provide a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team at site, as well as to the patients you work with, having active involvement in clinical governance and effectiveness activities. Qualifications Required MBChB or MBBS Inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice Evidence of continuing professional development Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or prepared to undertake these qualifications Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK and, due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks Secure environments are one of the most challenging, yet rewarding places for healthcare professionals to work.
