To apply, please complete an online application form on PAH website.We are looking for a full time or part time Staff Nurse.We are looking for nurses with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to join our team. You will work closely with the Clinical Leads to ensure more people achieve a peaceful and comfortable death in their preferred place of care.We offer a flexible approach to rostering and we will consider part-time applications; early, late, twilight shifts are available, however please note that night shifts are currently a mandatory requirement of the position (usually 2-3 per month pro rata).Main duties of the jobUnderstand the physiological, psycho-social,spiritual and cultural needs of patients requiring specialist palliative careand their families/carers.Complete the first level assessment of thepatient's needs and documents these on the care plan.Using the information obtained from nursinghistory assessments and from subsequent observations, identifies the patient'sindividual nursing problems and needs, and plans and implements care.Sets goals for the resolution of each of theidentified nursing problems, and helps the patient achieve these goals throughappropriate care planning.Documents and evaluates care given and discussesprogress, condition and treatment with the multi-disciplinary team, alertingthe Team Leader and/or Senior Staff Nurse of the patients changing health careneeds.Assist with teaching patients and theirfamily/carers in preparation for changes intreatment and expectations, and discharge for home care.Assists more senior members of the nursing staffin the organisation and management of the clinical area ensuring that theprinciples of individualised nursing care are maintained.About usPrincess Alice Hospice is one of the top ten adult hospices in the UK, providing specialist palliative care and support to a community of more than a million people living in Surrey, south west London and Middlesex.Please note: Our vacanciesare subject to eligibility to work in the UK.
