Responsibilities Assessment and care of paediatric patients of all ages attending the Emergency Department. Planning and delivery of nursing care that reflects current patient care needs. Evaluation of care in collaboration with patients / carers and multidisciplinary team. Involved in the care of trauma patients and resuscitation of critically unwell patients. Accurate documentation of nursing care delivered. Be a safe practitioner aware of own limitations and reporting any areas of concern to a more senior nurse. Work effectively as part of a team. Awareness of and co-operating in maintaining Accident and Emergency health care targets in the best interest of the patient. Participate in teaching / training of more junior staff. Follow policy and procedure accurately for Safeguarding. Ongoing development of skills and knowledge to become a competent Emergency Department nurse. Qualifications You must be able to produce ALL certificates stated essential in the person specification or you will not be able to complete pre-employment checks. Location and Services We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
