Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Building Services Location : Bolton Salary : £50,000 - £60,00 DOE Are you an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer looking to take the next step in your career? We’re seeking a highly skilled and motivated senior-level engineer to join a growing building services consultancy based in Bolton. Key Responsibilities : Lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services projects from concept through to completion. Produce detailed mechanical design calculations, specifications, drawings, and technical documentation. Manage and mentor junior engineers, supporting their development and ensuring quality standards. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including electrical engineers, architects, and contractors. Conduct site visits, surveys, and inspections, providing technical guidance where required. Ensure designs meet current legislation, standards, and client requirements. Contribute to project planning, budgeting, and resource allocation. What we’re looking for : Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. Chartered or working toward chartership (CEng) preferred. Significant experience within building services consultancy. Strong understanding of HVAC systems, heat pumps, chilled water systems, public health, and low‑carbon technologies. Proficient in industry software such as IES, Revit, or similar.
