Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Building Services 

Location: Bolton 

Salary: £50,000 - £60,00 DOE

Are you an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer looking to take the next step in your career? We're seeking a highly skilled and motivated senior-level engineer to join a growing building services consultancy based in Bolton.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services projects from concept through to completion.
  • Produce detailed mechanical design calculations, specifications, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Manage and mentor junior engineers, supporting their development and ensuring quality standards.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including electrical engineers, architects, and contractors.
  • Conduct site visits, surveys, and inspections, providing technical guidance where required.
  • Ensure designs meet current legislation, standards, and client requirements.
  • Contribute to project planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.

What we're looking for:

  • Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Chartered or working toward chartership (CEng) preferred.
  • Significant experience within building services consultancy.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, heat pumps, chilled water systems, public health, and low-carbon technologies.
  • Proficient in industry software such as IES, Revit, or similar.
  • Excellent communication, client-facing, and leadership skills.
