General Maintenance Assistant The closing date is 28 December 2025 University Hospitals Dorset are looking to recruit a General Maintenance Assistant to work as part of their Estates team at Poole Hospital The successful applicant will need to demonstrate a keen understanding of all modern general maintenance activities, both reactive and planned; they will require a willingness to learn, be a dedicated team player and have a proven track record. The successful candidate will need to be able to work unsupervised and at times have a flexible approach working hours. Person Specification Qualifications Must be in procession of a driving licence (manual) GCSE grade C or above or equivalent in English, maths NVQ in an engineering or construction based subject Experience Able to communicate clearly and accurately both in verbal and written form. Be computer literate and able record data Able to work unsupervised in a variety situations which will require interaction with staff from other departments and patients /patients family. Previous NHS experience in an acute hospital environment or similar. Background in building services or construction.
