We are looking for a suitable candidate who has motivation, enthusiasm and a commitment to person centred care, who would like to work within a new team on Kingfisher House which is a male Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit. The post holder will be responsible for supporting the Occupational Therapist and Occupational therapy assistant, with the delivery of therapeutic activities and promoting recovery to individuals receiving support in the enhanced care setting. The role involves carrying out delegated duties, introducing service users organising, planning and facilitating activities. Kingfisher House is a new service and with a new and enthusiastic team, post holder will have the opportunity to develop the recreational timetable whilst working within the MDT. Main duties of the job You will support the team in providing a quality recreational/leisure service, to enhance a service user's stay in hospital. The role involves carrying out delegated duties, organising, planning and facilitating recreational activities. You will be supervised in order to promote social inclusion and enhancing the autonomy of the service user. This will involve initiating and sustaining a respectful, consistent and reliable approach with the service users, that enhances their ability to build social networks and work in partnership with other agencies.
