Job summary We are currently looking to recruit a Production Technician / Pharmacy Technician to join our Aseptic Services Unit (ASU). This pivotal role supports the delivery of safe, efficient and high-quality aseptic services in line with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Main duties The role involves supervising aseptic compounding activities, preparing and compounding cytotoxic, hazardous and monoclonal products according to GMP and SOPs, performing in‑process volume checks, maintaining aseptic equipment and environmental monitoring processes, assisting in quality improvement projects, managing top‑up services, tray assembly and accurate documentation, participating in on‑call and out‑of‑hours rotas, and supporting the training and supervision of junior staff. Responsibilities Supervise aseptic compounding activities and junior staff in the cleanroom environment. Prepare and compound cytotoxic, hazardous and monoclonal products in line with GMP and SOPs. Perform in‑process volume checks and final release of aseptically prepared products. Maintain aseptic equipment, isolators and environmental monitoring processes. Assist in quality improvement projects and report out‑of‑specification results. Manage top‑up services, tray assembly and accurate documentation. Participate in on‑call, weekend and bank holiday rotas for out‑of‑hours production. Support training and supervision of new and junior staff. Qualifications GPhC registration as a Pharmacy Technician (or equivalent accreditation). Previous experience in an aseptic services unit or sterile compounding environment. Experience Strong understanding of GMP and SOPs in a healthcare or manufacturing setting. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
