Position Salary: £40,000.00 Type: Permanent Full time: 40 hours Responsibilities As a Functional Assessor you will work autonomously to assess the cases of people who are applying for the Personal Independence Payment (PIP) benefit as part of the DWPs Health Assessment and Advisory Services (HAAS). This will involve holding consultations and writing fair and accurate reports. You will interview claimants to understand the challenges they face, and complete thorough assessments and examinations via telephone, video call, or face‑to‑face means. You will assess how the claimant’s disability/condition/illness impacts their functional ability on daily activities in a respectful, non‑biased and reassuring manner. Analyse information critically to create accurate and concise reports. Interpret clinical information and evidence. Maintain professional standards in written communication and adherence to code of conduct. Provide positive experiences for claimants and colleagues, meeting quality and productivity targets. Requirements Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as a qualified healthcare professional (listed below). Ability to demonstrate a broad clinical knowledge. Previous experience in using computer software including Microsoft Office.
