Consultant Pediatrician – Newham University HospitalAn enthusiastic and highly motivated clinician is invited to apply for a general consultant post at Newham University Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust. This newly created substantive post is part of an expansion of the Paediatrics team, now comprising 10 posts in total with an existing group of six paediatricians.Post Details10 posts (consultant level)No neonatal commitmentsExperience in paediatric subspecialty welcomeWorking collaboratively with three other sites in the trust and the Paediatric networkLocation and FacilitiesThe Paediatrics department is based in the newly built state‑of‑the‑art Children and Young Peoples Rainbow Centre, which houses out‑patients, day care, inpatient bays, cubicles and two fully equipped high‑dependency beds for NCPAP.QualificationsAll applicants must be on the Specialist Register or within 6 months of achieving a CCT (or equivalent) at the date of interview.Appropriate training and experience in general paediatrics is required.Interview InformationThe interview will be conducted in early January 2026.Interview location will be at the hospital.Job PlanA formal job plan will be reviewed between the appointee and the Clinical Director three months after appointment. The timetable will be flexible and agreed with the appointee to meet consultant contract requirements and departmental service needs.
