Senior Practitioner Location: Whaddon Youth Centre, Cheltenham Contract: Fixed Term until September 2029 Hours: 35 hours per week Salary: £30,600 per annum About the Organisation The Children’s Society has been helping children and young people in this country for over 140 years. We deliver essential local services that provide safe, trusted support to children and young people during times of significant need. Role Overview This role sits within our Youth Impact Domain and is located in our Gloucestershire Youth Services. In Gloucestershire, we work with children across Cheltenham and Tewkesbury Districts, offering open access youth work, one to one work, and Return Interviews. The role involves supporting the design, delivery, recording and evaluation of group sessions, and line managing sessional staff who support them. Responsibilities Inspire and lead staff, and groups of young people. Design relevant and safe youth work sessions. Required Skills and Competencies Experience in mentoring or managing staff Significant experience (more than 5 years) working with young people, ideally in a group setting Experience designing and evaluating programmes of work with young people It would also be an advantage if you have a youth work qualification.
