About the role… Our Avove Delivery team is looking for a Graduate Civil Engineer with an interest in Water and Wastewater Engineering. You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team working on a range of exciting projects, from network design to treatment facilities, through all stages of delivery, from feasibility to construction. This role offers hands‑on experience and the chance to learn from senior engineers while contributing to high‑impact infrastructure projects that meet technical standards, budgets, and deadlines. Based in North Derbyshire/South Yorkshire this role will be mainly site based with some time spent working from our offices or from home. This role is a September 2026 start. What a typical day could look like… Supporting the design of water and wastewater projects, from outline to detailed design. Assisting with design activities during construction. Gathering and analysing data to inform design decisions. Helping ensure designs meet client and industry standards. Taking on technical tasks that match your growing skills. Participating in site visits, surveys, and inspections. Contributing to feasibility studies and technical reports. Following health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures. Preparing and reviewing design calculations and documentation. Staying up to date with industry best practices. About you… We’re looking for graduates who are curious, creative, and ready to collaborate to create change and bring fresh perspectives. You’ll bring insights from your education and life experiences, and we’ll empower you to make a real impact. You should be graduating in 2026 or already graduated from your civil engineering degree. You’ll be digitally confident, a clear communicator, and able to collaborate with others while also taking initiative. We value organisation, attention to detail, and a desire to keep learning. A Civil Engineering degree is required to meet current entry requirements for professional qualifications such as CEng or IEng through ICE or equivalent. This role is not eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker Visa process. Applicants must therefore have, and maintain, an alternative right to work for the duration of employment.
