Content Designer £525/day (Inside IR35) Initial Contract till end of March 2026 London - Hybrid We're working with a central government department to hire a Content Designer on a contract basis. You'll help teams across government produce clear, user-focused content that meets the Service Standard and supports high-quality public services. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record working in public sector or government departments, with the ability to collaborate confidently with stakeholders at all levels. Responsibilities Develop, refine, and manage content grounded in user needs, using research, analytics, and feedback. Translate insights into content strategies, user stories, and actionable publishing plans. Partner with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and communities of practice across government to ensure content is accurate and effective. Contribute actively to the GDS and wider cross-government content community. Identify opportunities to improve processes and ways of working, helping teams work more efficiently. Manage competing priorities and deliver work across multiple projects in a flexible, responsive way. About you Experienced in user-centred content design and publishing, including working with CMS platforms. Skilled at applying analytics, research, and user feedback to guide content decisions. Confident in engaging with stakeholders and balancing multiple projects and priorities. Proactive in improving processes, sharing best practices, and raising standards across teams.
