Electrical Estimator – Equans (Manchester, UK) Equans (formerly Bouygues Energies & Services Industry) is recruiting an Electrical Estimator to join our close‑knit estimating team based in Manchester. Job Overview You will support the full tender lifecycle – from initial pre‑qualification through preparation, adjudication and submission – ensuring competitive, compliant proposals that meet company standards. Key Responsibilities Actively contribute accurate and auditable cost estimates. Review project documentation to understand scope and requirements. Accurately review and/or produce tender documents, drawings, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation. Collaborate with engineers and project managers to clarify design requirements and align estimates with specifications. Provide fully costed, detailed pricing in response to client specifications with appropriate backup data and audit trail. Assist in the production and submission of tenders for various clients and build customer relationships. Prepare prices and forecast for projects. Attend site visits as required to estimate and analyse results. Establish and maintain long‑term relationships with key vendors. Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations and pricing to ensure competitive and accurate estimates. Qualifications & Skills Proven experience in a similar estimator role within the industry. Strong technical knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices. Commercial awareness and experience in an M&E subcontractor or main contractor environment. Extensive trade knowledge. Demonstrated ability to manage time, resources and finance. Excellent planning, organisational and prioritisation skills. Commitment to maintaining high standards of health & safety. Strong written and verbal communication; negotiation and relationship‑building skills. Highly computer‑literate and analytical – competent in Microsoft Excel and estimating software.
