Electrical Estimator

OverviewBouygues Energies & Services Industry, an Equans Group Company is recruiting an Electrical Estimator to join the team based in Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a close-knit estimating team, contributing to a diverse portfolio of projects across Data Centres, Pharmaceutical / Clean Room Environments, Process Engineering & Industrial Works.As an integral member of the Estimating Team, the Electrical Estimator will be responsible for delivering accurate and high-quality trade pricing. This role involves supporting the full tender lifecycle – from initial pre-qualification stage through the preparation, adjudication process to final submission – ensuring competitive and compliant proposals are developed in line with company standards.ResponsibilitiesActively contribute to the team providing accurate and auditable cost estimatesReviewing project documentation to develop a clear understanding of project scope and requirementsAccurately review and/or produce tender documents and drawings, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentationWork collaboratively with engineers and projects managers to clarify design requirements and ensure estimates align with project specificationsHave responsibility for the delivery of fully costed and detailed pricing in response to client specifications with appropriate back-up data and audit trail documentationAssist in the production and submission of tenders for various clients whilst building relationships with these clientsPrepare prices and forecast for the projectsAttend sites visits as required to estimate and produce analysis of the resultsEstablish and maintain long term relationship with key vendorsStay up to date with industry trends, regulations and pricing to ensure competitive and accurate estimatesQualificationsProven experience in a similar Estimator role within the industryStrong technical knowledge of Electrical Engineering principles and practicesBackground in working within an M&E Subcontractor or Main ContractorExtensive Trades knowledgeDemonstrate experience in managing time, resource & financial managerialExcellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlinesCommitment to maintaining high standards of Health & Safety across all activitiesStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to negotiate effectively and build positive working relationshipsHighly computer literate and analytical - competent in use of Microsoft Excel and estimating softwareJob detailsSeniority level: Mid-Senior levelEmployment type: Full-timeJob function: Estimation / Electrical EngineeringBenefits25 days annual leave (+ public holidays)Life Cover equivalent to 4 times annual salaryCompany Stakeholder Pension SchemePrivate Medical Insurance2 corporate social responsibility days per yearBroad range of learning opportunities, such as professional qualifications, collective/individual training, and personalised support programmesAttractive Employee Referral Rewards SchemeAccess to our growing employee networks including AccessAbility (representing those with physical and mental disabilities), Encompass (representing the LGBTQ+ community), RISE (representing people from ethnic backgrounds), WOMEN TOGETHER (representing women in Equans), Working Parents, and Young Professionals.24/7 Employee Assistance Program and access to mental wellbeing appAbout EquansEquans, a subsidiary of the Bouygues group, is a world leader in the energy and services sector with operations in 20 countries, 90,000 employees working on 5 continents and a turnover of 19.2 billions euros in 2024.Bouygues Energies & Services Industry, a Equans Group company, specialise in executing technically challenging, time sensitive projects in critical environments: cleanrooms, laboratories, industrial plants, and data centres.
