SEND Child Support Worker
Location: Hull

Pay Rate: £90–£115 per day

TeacherActive is partnering with a supportive, forward-thinking secondary provision in Hull to recruit a compassionate and dedicated SEND Child Support Worker. This rewarding role is perfect for someone who is committed to making a meaningful impact on young people with a range of special educational needs, behavioural challenges, and emotional regulation difficulties.

About the Role

As a SEND Child Support Worker, you will support pupils across KS3 and KS4 who require additional help with learning, communication, social interaction, or sensory needs. Your responsibilities will include:

Providing one-to-one and small-group support

Helping pupils engage fully in classroom learning

Supporting emotional regulation, communication and social development

Using visual aids, structured routines, and sensory strategies

Assisting with personal care where needed

Creating a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment

Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and families

We’re Looking For

We welcome applicants with experience from SEND settings, schools, nurseries, alternative provisions, residential care, or healthcare environments. You should:

Bring patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping children

Be confident supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, communication needs, or developmental delays

Value structure, clear communication, and consistency

Be reliable, resilient, and committed to helping children reach their potential

Be open to learning new skills and approaches
