This opportunity offers exposure to a broad range of capital and risk modelling work, with the chance to support high-profile clients across the general insurance and reinsurance sectors.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver advice on solvency, economic capital, risk management, financial modelling, and business planning for clients across the non-life market.
- Lead concurrent actuarial assignments, often acting as the main client contact, working closely with internal teams and international network firms.
- Contribute to areas such as ESG, risk challenge, or training and development as part of the strategic growth of the practice.
- Oversee the development and mentoring of junior team members, including on-the-job coaching and career support.
- Apply and review risk and capital modelling techniques, including model development, validation, and implementation.
- Engage with a variety of model types and software, including tools such as Igloo, Tyche, or ReMetrica.
- Maintain awareness of regulatory developments and support clients with compliance and model approval, including Solvency II internal models.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic insight across areas such as reserving, pricing, M&A, audit support, and IFRS 17.
- A qualified or nearly qualified actuary with relevant experience in capital modelling or risk management.
- Background in the general insurance or reinsurance market, with awareness of industry-wide issues and emerging risks such as climate or cyber.
- Experience with model development and regulatory interaction, ideally within a consultancy or mixed background.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical content to senior stakeholders.
- Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple projects with a clear and pragmatic approach.
