Overview Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading servicing generation company to recruit a HSE Manager to be based at their office in West Horndon, Essex. The HSE Manager role comes with a salary of up to 50,000 + van + bonus + benefits. If you are a NEBOSH qualified, experienced HSE Manager then submit your CV to apply today. Responsibilities Lead the implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the company HSE Management System in line with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 standards. Conduct internal and external HSE audits, safety inspections, and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with legislation and internal policies. Provide expert HSE guidance to senior management and project teams, supporting site activities across multiple customer locations. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near–miss events, producing reports, analysing trends, and implementing corrective actions. Deliver HSE training, toolbox talks, and behavioural safety initiatives to promote a positive safety culture. Support bid and tender preparation by developing HSE documentation and assisting with client HSE requirements. Collaborate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure safe working practices during projects, outages, and high–hazard activities. Professional qualifications Minimum 5 years' HSE experience within heavy engineering environments (e.g., power, petro–chemical, energy, aggregates). NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Health & Safety qualification, with Grad IOSH membership as a minimum. Proven internal auditor capability with experience auditing against ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001. Strong knowledge of UK HSE regulations and experience managing HSE in high–hazard environments. Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to client sites nationwide. Personal skills Influential and confident communicator, able to engage at all levels and drive HSE excellence. Proactive, hands–on approach with strong judgement and the ability to act decisively in dynamic environments. Self–motivated, professional, and committed to continuous improvement and best–practice HSE leadership. Salary and benefits Basic salary of between 40,000 – 50,000 Benefits including van, fuel card and bonus.
