HSE Manager Essex Our client, a German company specializing in leading utility-scale solar development, is looking for an HSE Site Consultant to work on the construction phase of their project in Essex. The position requires full‑time on‑site presence and will start mid‑April 2026 with construction commencing around 15th May and completing around 15th November 2026. Responsibilities Take on the role of the HSE Consultant during the construction phase, ensuring compliance with national and local legislation. Assist the client in executing the role of Principal Contractor in line with local regulations. Develop, update, and communicate the Health & Safety Plan and Safety Management System to all parties. Prepare and deliver an overall safety induction training for all new workers on the project. Coordinate training requirements for workers coming from abroad or Europe to meet specific country legislation. Support the client’s project team in completing mandatory trainings and qualifications required by law. Consult with contractors before commencement (pre‑commencement/kick‑off meeting) to agree on required documentation such as training records, safety documentation, method statements, and risk assessments. Agree on the setup of the site, including security, compound, and welfare facilities. Coordinate with relevant stakeholders, conduct health and safety walk‑downs, and attend regular and ad‑hoc meetings with stakeholders, project team, administrators, and contractors. Chair regular meetings with stakeholders, the EPC Manager, Site Manager, HSSE Regional Manager, contractors, subcontractors, and other project parties. Carry out regular inspections and monitor contractors’ performance on site. Continuously review and update contractor documentation, including risk assessments, method statements, employee training status, and equipment/machinery compliance. Collaborate with the client project team to ensure ongoing health and safety compliance throughout the project. Review and update the client’s and EPC contractors’ plans, procedures, and temporary works to meet local law and HSE requirements.
